Finland has its challenges. This sparsely populated country has long distances between the cities. Arctic climate imposes heating, transport and infrastructure problems, especially for our energy intensive industry, to be solved. To live with these challenges requires toughness that we in Finland call “sisu”.
Finland possesses relatively rich natural resources and a high level of know-how and competencies. We have the brains and globally respected education system, forests and water, biomass and minerals that are needed to build a globally competitive country.
Based on our strengths and sparred by the existing challenges Finland has achieved the status of one of the leading countries in the world in the areas of sustainability, green economy, energy efficient production and transport system and ability to create innovative and sustainable solutions in many areas of human activity.
